Who are we?
We are a group of easy going, friendly adults (ages 35-45 or so) who enjoy having fun in WoW and seeing all of the game's content in a casual, low stress setting. We have a wide range of experience and playtime commitments in our membership. Some of us play a little bit almost every day; others are on a few nights a week. Some of us have a fair bit of raiding experience, while some are brand new players who are just leveling into the 80s. A few are committed "alt-oholics," and others have just one or two characters. We have both single players and a married couple or two. It's a very mixed group. We all share a desire to see end game content, but we're not willing to spend hours and hours per week raiding. Even as a somewhat small guild, we are progressing up the guild levels well. We also share an interest in various elements of geek culture like Monty Python (hence the guild name), Star (Trek | Wars), technology, etc. What do we do?
We do a little bit of everything. We currently run dungeons as a guild 2-3 times per week, help each other with achievements and leveling alts, do pvp (some of us), and run both pre-Cata and early Cata raids. We do not raid current content except via the Looking for Raid feature. Our current guild events schedule is organized around Friday and Sunday early evening meetings (starting around 7-8pm server time - Central time zone) with smaller groups doing pickup events on other nights. Event times are somewhat flexible. Why do we run the older raids?
Simply put, we do not have the time or motivation to keep grinding away on the gearing treadmill that is required to do current raid content. We view WoW as a hobby; we don't want it to feel like a job. Doing the older raids gives us a much larger fudge factor (i.e. to account for level, gearing, and skill differences), while still providing enough of a challenge to keep things fun. In our experience, if we want to see the end game raids as a very casual group, we have to do them once we've out-leveled them by a bit. Since we're not expert or top geared players, the older stuff is perfect for us.Why are we recruiting?
We'd like to have a large enough roster to be able to field an 8-10 man team on any given raid night. Given the real life commitments we all have, it's often difficult to count on that. So we are looking for a few folks who share our interest in casual, low stress raiding.Who are we recruiting?
We welcome mature, adult, friendly players with characters at level 80+. Come by yourself or bring your significant other along. Don't worry if you're not a superb player. You do not need to have raiding experience to join us. We will help you learn everything you need to know to enjoy seeing WoW's end game content. You don't have to join the guild right away if you don't want to. We know that joining a guild is a big commitment - especially if you'd be leaving another guild. Come run with us and see if you think we're a good fit for you. There's no obligation to sign up. We aren't looking for any particular classes or roles. No matter what class/spec you play we can probably find a place for you. What will you not find in our guild?
If you're looking for a guild where there are always 50+ people online then you probably won't be happy in ours. We are small because we like the friendlier atmosphere that comes with getting to know everyone in your guild. Most of us have been in guilds with several hundred members and hyper-active guild chat rooms. We didn't like that "noisy" environment so we formed our own smaller, quieter guild. Sure, we aren't maxed out in guild level yet, and we can't form a 25 man raid, but we still take down plenty of raid bosses and have a lot of fun doing it.How can you get more info?
